With fewer than 7,000 in the wild, African Painted Dogs are endangered. Once widespread, they are now only in sporadic sub-Saharan areas of the continent. Working with groups like the Botswana Predator Conservation Trust, the Cincinnati Zoo is helping to further research and protective action.
