(appraiser laughs) And this was in a box, so they've been sitting in storage for about ten years, and I have no idea, anything about them.
APPRAISER: They're original ink drawings.
I would put these in the 1930s, 1940s, and it's actually camera-ready art.
GUEST: Okay.
APPRAISER: So we know they were probably published.
You can even see here, there's a little bit of White-Out where the artist would've corrected it.
These were editorial or cartoons for a newsletter... GUEST: Right.
APPRAISER: ...or for a local paper or something like that.
The artist did sign them, not somebody prominent.
The series here is called Dim Bulbs.
So it's obviously guys that weren't that bright.
(chuckles) Some of them are finished, some of them are not finished.
GUEST: Yeah.
APPRAISER: Ultimately, for the mediocre ones, maybe $30 to $50.
GUEST: Really?
APPRAISER: For the great ones, maybe $75 to $120, so... GUEST: Wow.
APPRAISER: There are some-- just 'cause they're cool graphics.
GUEST: Yeah.
APPRAISER: And they're hand-drawn, camera-ready art.
Some of those are really just fun.
GUEST: Yeah.
APPRAISER: As a decorative thing.
So cool-- glad you brought them.
GUEST: Nice.
