Zahava Rendler was born in Poland and, when the war broke out, she hid in an underground bunker with her family. She was so young that she had to be drugged to make sure she didn’t cry. Her family later sent her to live with a Polish woman, who took her to a convent. After being reunited with her family, they fled to Palestine.
